DIA eDM 2014 Wrap Up: Standardization Processes

The Drug Information Association (DIA) Annual Conference on Electronic Document Management (eDM) held in Berlin this year drew focus to global standards in the life science industry. Representatives from pharmaceutical companies, clinical research labs, life science service providers, and more gathered to examine processes and techniques associated with standardization.

FARECHION Cofounder and Chairman Monique Rivas and a Pfizer senior director delivered an outstanding presentation, “Harmonization and Standardization of Dossier Content, Information and Processes,” which illuminated successful methodologies used to translate dossier content for over 70 locales/regions. Ms. Rivas explained to the packed house how a hub model enables the pharmaceutical company to take advantage of a cost-effective translation process that is centralized, scalable, and safeguards business continuity.

Steps the companies took to harmonize the translation of dossier content included creating standardized style guides, providing access to translation assets, and defining roles and responsibilities.
